Jennifer Wilken, MA
Jennifer is a certified spiritual director with a commitment to wide-open listening. She values curiosity, play and the embrace of wholeness (including the dark).
Jennifer has practiced spiritual direction for eight years. She earned certification from the Arizona Ecumenical Institute for Spiritual Directors in 2007, and also holds a Master of Arts in Religious Studies from Arizona State University (2014). Her research, "Son Salutations: Christian Yoga in the United States, 1989-2014," explores the spectrum of Christian attitudes toward yoga as demonstrative of contemporary religious imagination and the evolving nature of religious pluralism and lived practice. Jennifer leads a team of analysts at Arizona State University, allowing her many hours to play in spreadsheets and forecast models. She is currently curious about the ways we teach and learn human capacities such as compassion, generosity and empathy, and about the intersection of higher education, scholarship in the humanities, and the concept of contemplative pedagogy. |
